Portrait of a Graduate Program
Lewis County C-1 School District is leading the way in making 21st century learning a reality for all students
Lewis County C-1 School District announced that they are actively engaging the community in developing a Portrait of a Graduate, a collective vision that articulates the community’s aspirations for all of its students. “As school leaders, we must continually ask ourselves what are the hopes, dreams, and aspirations that our community has for our children,” said Superintendent French. “We want all Highland students to have the learning experiences that prepare them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and dispositions to be lifelong learners who are college ready, career ready, and life ready when they walk out of our doors.”
The Portrait of a Graduate will be locally developed, but globally positioned. The district is recruiting a dynamic Portrait Design Team that is diverse and represents all aspects of the community—including students—to help co-design the Portrait. “It’s essential that our district collaborates with our community to create a Portrait that describes what our students need to be ready for life,” said Superintendent Name. “Success depends on more than just what you know, but also how you communicate, collaborate, innovate, and think critically.”
The district plans to create opportunities for community feedback to inform ongoing implementation. Community members are encouraged to attend a board sponsored Spaghetti Supper on March 19, 2025 to be held in the Highland High School Commons at 6pm. The meal will be followed by a meeting to include activities to gather community feedback and inform the ongoing implementation for the district.
RSVP’s are being accepted at the following website form:
