Farm Bureau Book Donations
March 05, 2025

Lewis County Farm Bureau donates an agriculture related book to Highland and Canton elementary schools each year during Thank-A-Farmer Week. This year, Lewis County Farm Bureau selected the book “A Home Run for Peanuts: How Georgia’s Peanut Farmers Fuel Active Kids” by Amanda Radke. During the Farm Bureau’s recent meeting, it was decided to expand the book donation to include the local city libraries as well.
While at a Shelby County Extension event on February 19, 2025, two of our Board Members, LCFB Board President Brenda Schreck and LCFB Secretary Kaley Bozarth recognized the author of A Home Run for Peanuts in the audience of the event. They approached Mrs. Amanda Radke and introduced themselves and explained to her that Lewis County Farm Bureau had voted to purchase donate her books to the local schools and libraries, and asked if she could autograph each book for them. Mrs. Radke agreed and autographed each copy. The books will be distributed to the schools and libraries during Thank-A-Farmer week. March 2-8, 2025.
