WILLIAM MOCHNIK

William Mochnik of LaGrange, Mo., formerly of LaSalle, Ill., passed away on March 17, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. 
Arrangements are private and the direction of the Davis Funeral Home in LaGrange, Mo.   
“Wild Bill’s” passions were his drums and guitar. He began drumming as a teenager and joined local bands which became popular in the local and Streator areas.  
He graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School, Class of 1964, and served in the United States Air Force, playing drums in the Air Force band. He earned a degree from Illinois State University and attended the University of Illinois. Bill worked many years in Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe, then ventured into farming and small-town life in Missouri. He traveled to Yugoslavia and met family members. He enjoyed camping, fishing, horse racing and feeding his backyard birds. Bill had many close, old friends who he loved spending time with.   
Bill is survived by his sister, Cindy Bosnich of DePue and nieces: Julie (Jeff) Richards of Streator, Cathie (Michael) Grabowski of Peru, Monica (Don) Stone of DePue, Jennifer Bosnich of Pekin and nephews: Michael (Judy) Ficek of Bloomington, Jeff (Dena) Ficek of LaSalle, and Michael (Cinnamon) Bosnich of LaSalle.   
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Angeline (Nell) and Joseph Mochnik, his brother, Bob, and sister, Carole Ficek, and bothers-in-law, Don Bosnich and Stanley Ficek.
