Dustin Warner Yates, 55 of rural Canton, Missouri died March 25, 2025 surrounded by his family at his home. The son of Edgar Isaac and Catherine “Kaye” Atkins Yates was born on January 3, 1970 in Quincy, Illinois.
He was united in marriage to Debbie Brown on May 23, 1998 at the First Baptist Church of Ewing, Missouri.
Dusty served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1988-1992 during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He was a trustee for the Canton Eagles Club Arie #1800 and Fire Chief of the Monticello Station of R-V Fire Protection District. He was a Dallas Cowboy and Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, camping and trap shooting. He was always the life of the party.
He is survived by his mother, Catherine “Kaye” Yates of Quincy, Ill.; his wife, Debbie Yates of Canton, Mo.; three children, Terry (Taylor) Wilson of Texas, Remington Yates and Hunter Yates both of Canton, Mo.; six grandchildren, Mykael, Isabella, Elizabeth, ScottLynn, Elaine and expecting granddaughter Marsali; his sister, Lini (Dale) Brown of Williamstown, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; and his special dog “Toby”.
He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Rowdy Eugene Yates and his father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Louise Brown.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Arnold’s Funeral Home in
Canton, Missouri with Rev. Rusty Schultz officiating. Visitation will be held Friday April 4, 2025 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton. Pallbearers: Jason Boudreau, Jeff Job, Billy Porter, Doug Green, Travis Dodds and Paul Logsdon. Honorary Pallbearers: Zachary Cottrell, Jacob Scott, Dale Brown and the members of the
Lewis County Fire Departments.
 Burial with military honors will be in Zion Hill Cemetery near Williamstown, Missouri. Firefighter Honors will be presented by Missouri Fire Service Funeral Assistant Team and the Fire Departments of Lewis County.
Memorials may be made to Monticello Fire Auxiliary or Canton Eagle’s Club Building Fund.
