Celebrating 70 Years of Marriage

April 10, 2025

Robert and Rosemary Taylor are celebrating a milestone anniversary. On April 10, the planets and stars will align.  They also aligned 70 years ago for Robert and Rosemary’s wedding day in Bucklin, Mo in 1955.
Bob was from Canton and had just returned from the service.  Rosemary had her first job working as a home economist for Lewis County after graduating from Kirksville Teachers College.
Bob was happy to marry the ‘Belle of Linn County’ and Rosemary started her journey of being a dairy farmers wife.
The couple were blessed with four children, 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
They started with a small dairy farm and built it into a family business.  Bob is still farming in his head with his son Jere doing the labor. Rosemary worked and retired after 30 years as County Director of Lewis County Family and Children’s Services.  She takes really good care of Bob now.
The Taylor’s saw to it their children learned how to work hard, be frugal, went to school, church and 4-H!  They continue to keep up with the grand and great grandchildren. It is no small accomplishment to be wed 70 years but these two make it look easy.
