Summer Reading Program-Pre-Registration starts soon
May 16, 2025

Canton Public Library’s Summer Reading Program begins on June 1 and runs through July 31. Pre-registration starts May 21. All ages are welcome to participate. Those who pre-register will receive free admission to “The Little Prince” showing at the Lewis Street Playhouse on May 30 and May 31. Preschoolers will have the option to choose a preschool goody bag in lieu of the movie ticket.
This summer’s theme is “Color Our World.” The Library invites the community to celebrate the power of art to transform, uplift, and connect, and offers fun programs, a reading challenge, and lots of opportunities to earn rewards and win prizes all summer long.
Weekly programming for all ages begins June 1, with weekly StoryTimes for preschoolers and their families on Thursdays at 10:00 AM. Programs for kids ages 5 - 10 will be held on Thursdays from 2:00-3:00. Programs for teens and tweens aged 11-17 will be held on Tuesdays at 6:00-7:30 PM.
Other programs scheduled include the return of the Great Canton Bake-Off, an Art Trivia Contest, Blockfest, and more.
The Library welcomes back the popular Will Stuck for another hilarious presentation “Pigment of Your Imagination” on Thursday, June 19 at 2:00 PM. Other family-friendly programs include Mad Science with “Spin, Pop, Boom” on Thursday, July 10 at 2:00 PM, and juggler Brian Wendling on Thursday, July 24 at 2:00 PM.
This year, the Library challenges the community to reach a Community Reading Goal of 300,000 minutes.
