Lions Club Fishing Rodeo

The annual Lions Club Fishing Rodeo was held at Wakonda State Park on June 7 with over 50 young fishermen participating. First second and third place prizes were awarded to the kids that caught the most, largest and smallest fish and every youngster won a door prize.
The LaGrange Lions Club and Wakonda State Park began the fishing rodeo over 20 years ago. The late Russell Heindselman was the organizer. Heindselman was known for his love of nature and encouraged young and old alike to enjoy the outdoors.
