Carol Anne Wyatt, 74, of Canton, Mo., died June 15, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
Carol was born June 6, 1951, in Quincy, Ill., to Arnold William Gosney and Alice Anne Dunsing Gosney. She was married to Robert “Bob” Wyatt on September 1, 1979, in Hannibal Mo. He survives.
Other survivors include her mother, children, Elizabeth (Sabry) Gomaa of Canton, Mo., Daniel (Lauren) Wyatt of Colchester, Ill., Mary Ann Hanson of North Dakota, grandchildren, Sophia, Lizbeth, Ethan, Emily, Rodney, Christopher, Chava, Benjamin, Joshua, Cayla, Braylen, Gabriel, great-grandson, Robert, brother Dale (Carla “Susie”) Gosney of Palmyra, aunts, Eunice Dunsing of Quincy, Ill., Darlene Clemens of Quincy, Ill., and Mae Dunsing of Sitka Alaska .
Carol was preceded in death by her father and uncle, Daniel “Duke” Dunsing.
Educated in Philadelphia, Mo., Carol’s roots ran deep into the soil of her family’s farm in Emerson, where her values of hard work and community were sown. Carol was an elementary school teacher. She poured her heart into educating young minds and played a pivotal role in establishing and setting up a toy museum. Her business acumen shone through as the Vice President of Wyatt Industries, where she was respected for her leadership and vision.
Carol was often found leading Girl Scout troops on field trips and sharing her passion for nature as she camped under the stars in her Civil War tent and the crackle of campfire. Her dedication to history was not just a pastime but a lived experience, as she donned the uniform of a Civil War re-enactor. With her hands, she helped build and operate cannons, bringing the past to vivid life for all who watched. 
Carol enjoyed scouring garage sales and flea markets. Her skill with a needle and thread was unmatched, sewing her own clothes and uniforms, each stitch a testament to her attention to detail and love for authenticity.
In her kitchen, Carol was known for her spaghetti and meatballs and her homemade salsa from garden-fresh tomatoes. She was the cornerstone of holiday dinners, her home a welcoming haven where laughter and the aromas of delicious meals were a constant.
Carol’s interests were diverse, from the political intrigue that captivated her as she collected political buttons to the classic westerns and Hallmark movies that graced her screen. “Gone with the Wind” held a special place in her heart, as did the music of Final Authority and Neal McCoy, which often filled her home with melody and song.
Her voice, a blend of wisdom and wit, will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral Services were held June 20, 2025, at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, Mo. Pastor Mark Wiewel officiated. Pallbearers: Daniel Wyatt, Lauren Wyatt, Sabry Gomaa, Dale Gosney, Willie Davis, Eric Walker, Sophia Pratt, and Lizbeth Del Rosario.
 Burial: Dover Cemetery in Rural LaGrange, Mo.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, Mo.
