Lewis County Fair Begins

The 49th annual Lewis County Fair will take place July 8 to July 12. Many activities will fill the days and nights at the fairgrounds.
The Royalty Contests will begin at 4 p.m. on July 8 and new royalty will be crowned. Wednesday, July 9 is Family Fun Night beginning at 6 p.m., prizes will be drawn at 7:15 p.m. The Garden tractor pull will be at 6 p.m.
Thursday, July 10 is the Truck and Tractor Pull beginning at 6 p.m. The very popular Demolition Derby will be Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday, July 12 at 7 p.m. is Night of Destruction.
Live music will be featured Friday from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. with The Smokin Crawdads and on Saturday night the band will be the Mugshot Bandits.
Jones and Company Carnival will open each day at 6 p.m. and rides will be open at noon on Saturday, July 12. Pre-sale armbands are available.
Reduced gate admission of five dollars will be Wednesday, July 9 for senior citizens 65 years or older. Season passes are available. All fairground parking is free.
Contests include Country Classic quilt show on July 8 at 4:30 p.m. and the baked goods and canned food silent auction will be at 4:30 p.m. also. Wednesday, July 9 is the 4-H/FFA trophy presentation at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10 will be the Baby Show at 5:30 p.m. and Tie Dye Kids Crafts at 5:30 p.m.
Friday, July 11 will feature a petting zoo from 4 to 5 p.m. The Power Wheels Derby will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 12 is the Pedal Tractor Pull is at 10:30 a.m. and Fun at the Fair kids games will take place at 12:30 p.m. A cornhole tournament will be at 2:30 p.m.
The annual livestock auction will be held Saturday, July 12 at 5 p.m.
