ROBERT HENRY AXTON

Robert Henry Axton, 71, of Newport, AR, formerly of Canton, Mo., passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, in Newport, Ark.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, Mo. Rev. Paul Kinney will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton, Mo.
Friends and Family are invited to Robert’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, Mo.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, MO.
Robert was born September 5, 1953, in Hannibal, Mo., to James Axton and Pauline Eaton Axton.
Survivors include his two sisters, Charlotte Johnson of Newport, AR, Martha Handley of Quincy, IL, Twelve nieces and nephews, Karen (David) Green, Kathy (Kevin) Lewis, Pamela Nelson, Steven McCarty, Bryant McCarty, Bethany Handley, Arinda Beaston, Kurt Handley, Stacy Handley, Noah Axton, Jackee Axton, Alana Axton and several great nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Carl Axton, sister, Patsy McCarty.
Robert had a passion for activities that required patience and skill. He enjoyed putting puzzles together. Robert's attention to detail was further showcased in his love for model cars and trucks. He enjoyed going on car rides. He liked spending time at the dirt tracks, attending local stock car races. Robert took pleasure in mowing the grass. This task was relaxing for him, a time to reflect and appreciate the beauty of nature.
Robert was of Pentecostal belief.
