RUTHIE A. MCCUTCHAN

July 16, 2025

Ruthie A. McCutchan, 56, of Monticello, Missouri died July 12, 2025, at her home.
Ruthie was born on July 24, 1968, in Quincy, Illinois, to Nikolaus Fellinger and Martha Foster Fellinger. She married David McCutchan, who survives her, on December 26, 1986, at Monticello United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include her parents; children, Spencer (Holly) McCutchan of Quincy, Ill., Cole McCutchan (Ella Wenneker) of Monticello, Mo., Drew McCutchan (Fiancé Olivia Wenneker) of Canton, Mo., John (Brianna) McCutchan of La Belle, Mo.; siblings, Jaynie (Steve) Davis of Lithia, Fla., Kathy Cottrell (Scott Evans) of Monticello, Mo., Mick (Jeannie) Fellinger of Canton, Mo., Kris (Stan) Bell of Claremore, Okla.; grandchildren, Parker, Foster, and Miller; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ruthie was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Fellinger Covey; beloved mother and father-in-law, JD and Ella Mae McCutchan; and brother-in-laws Dale McCutchan, Larry Penn and Terry Busswell.
Ruthie proudly worked on the farm alongside her husband, whom she described as the “love of her life”. She completed beauty school, worked as a hairdresser in her community, and later owned and operated a floral shop, building lasting relationships throughout her career. Later in life, Ruthie found a new passion and established Magnolia Dreams Kennels. Her love for dogs was evident in the care and affection she poured into her kennel. Ruthie’s love for animals was matched only by her love for people.
Ruthie’s most profound joy and honor was raising her four sons. Her world revolved around caring, nurturing and supporting them. More than anything, she looked forward to being a grandmother and spending years spoiling them the way she had her own children. She was affectionately known as Momma Ruthie to her children’s friends, a testament to her warm, maternal nature.
She deeply cherished her friends and family. She never turned down a spur of the moment adventure, shopping trips with life-long best friends, or a last-minute trip to help a family member in need. She enjoyed traveling, but more importantly the people she was traveling with or for. Family and friends were the cornerstone of Ruthie’s life, and she embraced every opportunity to support her loved ones, whether it was through attending events or simply being there for them in any way she could.
Ruthie lived a life full of love, laughter, and service to others. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
