Straus Competes in Women’s Decathlon

Delaney Straus, of Philadelphia, Mo., and a student at Culver-Stockton College, finished tenth in the world at the second annual Women’s Decathlon World Championships. In the 100m Delaney had a 12:43, a personal record. She also had personal records in the shot put, 400m, discus, pole vault, javelin with a 130’8”. Her total score was a personal record of 6372 points. In the 1500m she ran a 5.01.62.  She competed against 18 other athletes spanning from five different countries.
Strauss was also ranked at the number one athlete in the world under the age of 22. The events were held August 16 and 17 at Spire Academy, Geneva, Ohio
