Carmelita M. Job, 86, of Canton, Mo., died March 27, 2026, at Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown, Mo.
Carmelita was born on August 19, 1939, in Keokuk, Ia. She was the eldest daughter of Eldon Campbell and Helen Hoewing Campbell. She was married to Duane Job on February 26, 1956, at Bluff Springs United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2021. They celebrated 65 years together.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeana (James) Geisendorfer of Lewistown, Mo., son, James Duane Job of Durham, Mo., son-in-law, Brian Deen of Canton, Mo., grandchildren, Nicole (Doc) Hannah of Overland Park, Kan., Jeremy (Miki) Geisendorfer of Monticello, Mo., Ethan (Kelsey) Geisendorfer of Festus, Mo., Shanda Deen of LaBelle, Mo., Kayla (Merritt) Lomax of Durham, Mo., Kristine Job of LaGrange, Mo., Kelsey Job of Durham, Mo., great grandchildren, Natalie Wilson of LaGrange, Mo., Ty Edington of Overland Park, Kan., Jolie (Avery) Schultz of Canton, Mo., Luke Geisendorfer (Abbie Owsley) of Lewistown, Mo., Ellie Geisendorfer of Festus, Mo., McCrae Geisendorfer of Festus, Mo., baby, Nora Renee Geisendorfer, due in May, Gage Smith of LaBelle, Mo., Mason Smith of LaBelle, Mo., Grace Lomax of Durham, Mo., brothers, Richard Campbell of N.C., James Campbell of Canton, Mo., sisters, Marilyn Job of Canton, Mo., and Janet Solter of LaGrange, Mo., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carmelita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Debra Job Deen, daughter-in law, Kelly Job and grandson, Michael James Job, sisters-in-law, Kay Campbell, Peggy Stiffey, Joetta Gorrell, bothers-in-law, Jack Stiffey, Willis Gorrell, John Solter, and Ronald Job.
Carmelita grew up in the Lone Star district north of Gregory Landing, Mo. She attended Lone Star, a one-room schoolhouse, then graduating 8th grade from Gravel Hill school before attending Canton High School.
Carmelita never held a job outside the home but helped with farm chores, always planted a big garden and raised chickens. She enjoyed cooking, canning, and sewing. She made delicious pies. She had a natural gift for music and could sit down at the piano and play almost any tune by ear.
The joy of her life was her children and filling in as babysitter for her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Carmelita was a member of the Wyaconda Baptist Church west of Canton where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Family and Friends are invited to Graveside Services which will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Wyaconda Baptist Church Cemetery near Canton, Mo. Pastor Lance Bonnell will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Geisendorfer, Ethan Geisendorfer, Merritt Lomax, Luke Geisendorfer, Mason Smith, Gage Smith, Ty Edington, McCrae Geisendorfer and Avery Schultz.
Memorial contributions may be made to Country Aire Retirement Estates.
