Nancy A. Mueller, 70, of Canton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, with her family by her side.
Born on October 8, 1955, in Lima, Illinois, she was the cherished daughter of the late Paul and Maxine Stratton.
Nancy graduated from Unity High School in 1973. During her high school years, she took great pride in being the first fire baton twirler in the Unity Marching Band, a role that reflected the enthusiasm and spirit she carried throughout her life.
Nancy was united in marriage to Larry Mueller on January 20, 1973 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Canton, Missouri.
Nancy had a passion for helping others in both her professional and personal life. She dedicated 10 years as a Health Unit Coordinator at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, Illinois, and 24 years in the OB Department at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. Her commitment to serving others extended far beyond her career. She was an active volunteer with Relay For Life and a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Nancy found joy in decorating the church for holidays and creating beautiful floral arrangements that brought warmth and beauty to her community.
Nancy’s life revolved around her faith and family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Mueller; her three children, Elizabeth A. ‘Beth’ Mueller (Weaver) of Canton, Missouri, Andrew L. ‘Andy’ Mueller (Sarah Zislin) of Mantua, New Jersey, and Carmen N. Mueller of Canton, Missouri.
She was a proud grandmother to Adam W. Weaver (Jayden Jackson), Ashlie E. (Beau) Turgeon, and Austin P. Weaver, all of Canton, Missouri, and a loving “GiGi” to Tulsen D. Weaver.
She was also excitedly awaiting the arrival of a baby girl Turgeon this fall. She was a proud “Graham Crackers” to her honorary granddaughters Haleiha J. Reimers and Adalee H. Poppe of Ewing, Missouri.
She is further survived by her brothers, Steven P. Stratton of Sutter, Illinois, and Kevin L. (Lori) Stratton of Quincy, Illinois; her nephews, Nicholas L. (Brooke) Stratton and Tanner P. Stratton (fiancée Nichole Miller), both of Quincy, Illinois; as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
Nancy possessed a kind Christian spirit that radiated patience, love, and creativity. She treasured time spent with her family, especially baking cookies with her grandchildren, hosting family gatherings, and planning memorable vacations. She also enjoyed the companionship of her beloved dog, Lacey. Her many hobbies reflected her vibrant personality and appreciation for life’s simple joys. She loved gardening, painting, camping with loved ones, traveling to new places, and creating beautiful floral arrangements for her children’s special occasions.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Maxine Stratton, and her in-laws, Frank and Elizabeth Mueller.
Nancy’s legacy is one of love, kindness, faith, and unwavering dedication to those around her. Her memory will live on through the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the beauty she brought into the world.
