NEDRA M. WILLIS

Nedra M. Willis, 95, of the Lewis County Nursing Home died January 13, 2018 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

She was born June 23, 1922 in Canton, Mo., a daughter of Dennis J. and Mary Ballard Willis. Nedra never married.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton. She liked to bake and read. Nedra graduated from Canton High School in 1941, after graduation she worked at the Glove Factory in Canton. During WWII she worked at the Ordinance Plant in Louisiana, Mo. After the war she moved to St. Louis where she worked at the Famous Barr Candy Factory. In the early 1970’s Nedra moved back to Canton and began working at Deter’s Dairy. She also worked with the Lewis County Foster Grandparents Program.

Survivors include one niece, Mary (Dale) Stice of Monticello, Mo; one nephew, J. Dennis (Diane) Willis of Canton; two great nieces, Bethany (Cal) Callison of Ashton, IL and Tami Willis of Canton; two great nephews, Nathan (Kara) Stice of Canton, and Jared Stice of Portage, WI; four great-great nephews, Javan, Kenan and Asher Callison and Lemuel Stice; sister in law, Barbara Willis of Canton and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by parents and one brother Julian Willis.

Visitation will be held January 17, 2018 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Cal Callison officiating. Pallbearers: William C. Ballard, Georgian Ballard, Dale Stice, Nathan Stice, Bethany Callison and Javan Callison. Music will be provided by Mary Stice, Organist; Debbie Shepherd, Vocalist “Some Golden Daybreak.”

Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home in care of Davis Funeral Home, Canton, MO.
