Amelia K. “Amy” Smith, 70 of Canton, Missouri died April 3, 2020 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

The daughter of Henry Louis and Leta Mildred McDaniel Riney was born on November 27, 1949 at Keokuk, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Richard Smith on March 26, 1973 at Quincy, Illinois.  He died February 21, 2005.

Amy was of the catholic faith.  She liked to spend time with her kids and grandkids, crocheting and going on road trips with her family.

She is survived by three children, Brenda (John) Wagner of Washington, Herman Boyer of La Grange, Mo. and Joetta (Lonnie) Martin of Canton, Mo.; ten grandchildren, Amanda, Jamie, Lacey, Trevor, Kaylee, Whitney, Melissa, Tracey, Jonathan and Maylee; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Payne of Springfield, Il. and Mona (Tad) Stalets of Riverton, Il.; a brother, Larry Gibbons of Keokuk, Ia.; and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, great-granddaughter, Audi Marilea, three sisters, Rose Heritage, Bernie Murphy and Lillie Riney and two brothers, Bill Riney and Bob Gibbons.

Private services will be held at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton, Missouri. Honorary Pallbearers: Larry Gibbons, Earnest Martin, John Wagner, Jonathan Martin, Christopher Richards, Anthony Richards, Donald Richards and Roy Bell.

  Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Pit Bulls & Parolees (Villalobos Rescue Center).
