Daniel M. Meyer,71, of Clayton, died Friday, December 11, 2020, in his home .

Daniel was born May 11, 1949 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Harold and Ethel Boehl Meyer. He married Glenda 'Jody' Lochman in 1971. She preceded him in death in 1998. He married Diane (Lehr) Jones in 2015. She survives.

Daniel served in the United States Army during the VietNam War, where he received a bronze star. He had been employed at Selby Implement Company for many years. More recently he was the manager of the Secretary Of State's Drivers License facility in Quincy, retiring in 2012. Daniel liked fishing and enjoyed muscle cars. His last muscle car was a 1970 GTO.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Diane, include his daughter, Amy Meyer of Quincy; a step-son, Jeremiah (Kate Chettle) Jones of Beverton, OR; a granddaughter, Adrienne Ransdell of Quincy; two sisters, Lynda Clair of Bowling Green, MO and Rebecca Meyer of Quincy; three sisters-in-law, Debbie Meyer of LaGrange, MO, Nadine Marlow of LaPrairie, IL, and Darlene (Raymond) Stevens of LaFayette, IL; and several nieces and nephews,

In addition to his first wife, Jody, Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ronald Meyer, and two brothers-in-law Kenneth Clair and Dean Marlow.

A private memorial service was held December 16, 2020 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Sheri Renner officiating and military honors conducted by American Legion Post 37 and the US Army funeral honors detail.
