MARSHALL HICKS
Marshall Phillip Hicks, 81, of LaBelle, MO, died October 11, 2022, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
Born November 12, 1940, he was a son of John Phillip and Grace Lowry Hicks. He was united in marriage to Connie Sue Stanley on December 7, 1968 in Lafayette, IL.
Marshall served in the Illinois National Guard for six years. He was engaged in farming and logging. Deer hunting, fishing, traveling and going to the Midwest Old Thrashers Reunion at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa were things he liked to do. Marshall had a talent for woodworking and remodeling. He also took pleasure from reading and watching football. Most of all he loved and enjoyed his family thoroughly and lived his life to the fullest.
Surviving are his wife, Connie of the home; two daughters, Tammy Triplett and John of Kirksville, MO and Wendy Ward also of Kirksville, MO; four grandchildren, Kyle and Meghan Triplett and Lauren and Ashley Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Jayce, Jayden and Jackson Triplett and Roman Gillespie; three brothers, Carol E. Hicks and Lynn of Marquette, MN, Cecil Hicks of Sandpoint, ID and Donald Hicks and Karen of Novinger, MO; two sisters, Martha Dougherty and John of Springfield, IL and Shirley Wilkerson and Bill of Galva, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Hicks.
It was Marshall’s wishes to be cremated. A memorial service will be held later in the spring.
