RUTH ‘ELAINE’ LEE  

Mrs. Ruth “Elaine” Lee, 85, died, October 11, 2022 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Mrs. Lee was born June 3, 1937 at Hannibal, Mo., a daughter of Cecil Francis (Mac) and Emma Josephine Gillespie Mc Fadden.

She married George Robert Lee, March 21, 1964, in Canton, Mo. He preceded her in death December 27, 2008. Mrs. Lee graduated from Canton High School in 1955 and worked at Canton State Bank from 1955 -1968. She later worked at Canton Press News for a number of years.

She was a member of the Canton Christian Church where she served as Deaconess for several years and later became Deacon Emeritus. She was an active member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship and served in several offices with Secretary being her latest.

She has served as the preparer of communion for the church for a number of years. She was a former member of Chapter BS P. E. O. and served as President in 1987-‘89. For many years she served as Financial Advisor for the Sigma Kappa sorority at Culver-Stockton College.

Mrs. Lee is survived by son David (Deana) Lee of Ferryville, Wis.; three grandsons, Josh (Lizzy) Lee of Canton, Johnathan (Ashley) Lee of Moberly, Mo., and their daughter to be born in April, and Hunter Lee of Ferryville, Wis.; granddaughter Jennifer Lee of Quincy, Ill.; great granddaughter Georgia Ann Lee of Canton; Brother-in-law Larrie E. Dunn of Sarasota, Fla. Sister -in-law, Martha Lee of Colorado Springs, Col.; niece Cathy (Eric) Dubisky of Jacksonville, Fla.; niece, Elizabeth (Michael) Everson of Colorado Springs, Col.; nephew, Dr. Craig Dunn (Rosanne Cooke) of Sarasota, Fla.; nephew, John Heath Mc Fadden (Shonda) of Blanchard, Okla., and nephew, Daniel (Amanda) Lee of Washington D.C. and several great nieces and a great nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband, son Robert, sister Frances Dunn, brother and sister-in-law Michael and Nancy Mc Fadden and brother-in-law Carl B. Lee.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 20 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home in Canton with family meeting friends after 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Canton Christian Church with Rev. Amanda Gosik officiating. Music “How Great Thou Art” and “Because He Lives”, Don Altgilbers, Organist. Pallbearers: David Lee, Josh Lee, Johnathan Lee, Heath McFadden, Eric Dubisky, Eric Goodwin

The family suggests memorials may be made to Canton Christian Church, Culver-Stockton College Scholarship Fund or Canton Public Library.
