JANET CRABILL
Mrs. Janet Louise Schaffer Crabill, 78, of rural Ewing, Mo., died December 9, 2022 at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, Mo.
She was born February 8, 1944 in Quincy, Ill., a daughter of Arthur William and Ruth Feld Schaffer Sr. She married Marion Lee Crabill on August 14, 1964 at the Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ in Quincy, Ill. He survives.
Janet had many hobbies and things that she enjoyed, they include: crocheting, fishing, camping, painting ceramics, cooking and making candy and pies, walking the dog, gardening, delivering meals, spending time with her family and playing cards.
Janet graduated from Quincy High School and later from Gem City Business College and had worked at the Lewis County Nursing Home as a laundry aide and for Heartland Resources in Ewing preparing meals. She was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ in Quincy.
Survivors include her husband, Marion L. Crabill of Ewing; children, Jeff Crabill of Quincy, Richard (Julia) Crabill of Ewing and Jodi (Jayson) Dowling of Hannibal, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Brandon Crabill, Matthew Crabill, Megan Crabill, Abbigail Crabill, Benjamin Crabill, Nicholas Crabill, Kaleb Johnson and Abigail Johnson; brother, Arthur W. Schaffer Jr. (Myriam Pelley) of St. Louis, Mo.; sister in law, Linda (Joe) Cupp of La Grange, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Gerald H.W. Schaffer, James Schaffer, Terry Schaffer and sister Janice Schaffer.
Graveside services and burial will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Dover Cemetery (Selves Addition) near LaGrange, Mo., with Rev. Elmer Hagood officiating. Pallbearers: Brandon Crabill, Matthew Crabill, Benjamin Crabill, Nicholas Crabill, Kaleb Johnson and Jason Epperson.
Honorary Pallbearers: Megan Crabill, Abbigail Crabill and Abigail Johnson
The family suggests memorials be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in care of Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing, Mo.
