FFA Chapter Receives Tractor Donation

The Canton Agriculture Power Class is excited about the opportunity to begin working on their 2023-2024 tractor project. The tractor has been donated to the chapter by Dan and Rose Fitzhugh from Shelbina. The tractor is a 1952 Allis Chalmers WD. The family bought the tractor in 1998 and has used it on the farm ever since. Students will be learning how to sand, prime, and paint the tractor. Students will also put their agricultural mechanics skills to work restoring the tractor’s hydraulic system and ensuring the engine runs properly. The class is excited to bring the tractor back to restore this tractor. The FFA chapter plans to exhibit the Tractor at both the Lewis County Fair and Missouri State Fair before bringing it back to the school to be put on display by the Canton FFA Greenhouse.
