PHILIP HAMILTON

Philip Alan Hamilton, 70, of LaBelle, Mo., died December 10, 2023, at his home in LaBelle surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 21, 1953, in Illinois, the son of Floyd O. and Martha Laverne McGuire Hamilton. He was united in marriage to Donna Evans on July 21, 1973, in LaBelle, Mo.

Phil is survived by his wife Donna Hamilton of LaBelle, Mo., three children, Ryan (Andrea) Hamilton and Jeffrey (Danielle) Hamilton both of LaBelle, Mo., and Stephanie (Tim) Weis of Quincy, Ill., three brothers Floyd B. (Amelia) Hamilton of Oklahoma, Okla., David L. (Charlotte) Hamilton of Pittsfield, Ill., and Steven R. (Ros) Hamilton of LaGrange, Mo., two sisters Martha (Claire) Horton of Avon, Ill., and Rachel (Bob) Caudle of Allen, Tex., six grandchildren Sophia and T.J. Weis, Oliver and Vincent Hamilton and Atticus and Cyrus Hamilton, several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Finley.

He was preceded in death by his parents Reverend Floyd Hamilton and Laverne Hamilton.

Phil graduated from Highland High School in 1971. He received an associate degree from Hannibal LaGrange College and attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Mo.

Phil was employed for 40 years with ADM where he worked as a power plant operator.

Phil was a member of the Lewis County Fair Board, was a baseball coach, active in 4-H, collected antique woodworking tools, pocketknives, civil war books, and vintage Coleman lanterns. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and fishing.

Funeral services were held December 15, 2023, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Mo. Visitation preceded services. at the funeral home. Officiating the services were Reverend Lance Bonnell and Reverend Dave Hamilton.

The burial was in the Slocum Cemetery west of Greensburg, Mo.

Casket bearers: Ryan Hamilton, Jeffrey Hamilton, Tim Weis, Steve Hamilton, Daniel Carper, and Josh Lay. Honorary bearers: Sophia Weis, T.J. Weis, Oliver Hamilton, Vincent Hamilton, Atticus Hamilton, Cyrus Hamilton.
