MONTY DECKER
Monty Ray Decker, 50 of rural Lewistown, Missouri died October 22, 2021 at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Missouri.
The son of Lamont Decker and Mary Jo Ohnemus Sapp was born on January 1, 1971 at Quincy, Illinois.
He was united in marriage to Jennifer Root in October of 2017 at Maywood, Missouri.
Monty liked being outdoors enjoying his love for horses and horsemanship, hunting and trout fishing. He and Jennifer were avid members of the Quincy Saddle Club and they started a fundraiser for 2x4’s For Hope through a motorcycle poker run. He worked at Quincy Compressor and ADI-Timewell Tile. He loved his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer Decker of Lewistown, Missouri; children, McKenzie Decker of Quincy, Il., Megan Decker of Maywood, Mo., Macie Decker of Maywood, Mo., Kruz Decker of Lewistown, Mo. and Bryer Decker of Maywood, Mo.; grandchildren, Karsyn Bartz, Brystal Decker and Wesson Peters; mother, Mary Jo Sapp of West Point, Il.; step-mother, Kathy Decker of Lakeside, Ca.; brothers, Ty (Ashley) Cheesbrough of San Diego, Ca., Scott (Jennifer) Cheesbrough of Moyock, N.C. and Jeremy (Marcia) Farris of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lamont Decker, stepfather, Randy Sapp and his grandparents, Glenn and Mary Decker and Pete and Marjorie Ohnemus.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will held at a later date.
Arrangements are with Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown.
