MARILYN O’NEAL
Marilyn Sue O’Neal, 72 of Lewistown, Missouri, died November 4, 2022 at the Country Aire Retirement Center at Lewistown.
The daughter of William “Bill” and Rama Potter McCabe was born on July 11, 1950 at Edina, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Charles “Charlie” O’Neal on December 14, 1968 at LaBelle, Missouri.
Marilyn was a member of the First Baptist Church of LaBelle and a founding member and past president of the former Lewistown Fire Department Auxiliary. She retired while working as the Dietary Supervisor at Country Aire Retirement Estates at Lewistown. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and many other generations of children from Lewistown. She attended all the sporting events for her kids and grandkids and loved to celebrate everyone’s birthday. Her favorite past times were gardening, baking, canning, sewing, tending to flowers, playing cards and watching the hummingbirds. She would also be in the shop, watching Zach work on his derby cars.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie O’Neal of Lewistown, Mo.; two children, Zachary “Zach” O’Neal and Courtney (Eric) Corrick, both of Lewistown, Mo.; she was a second mom to Chrystal Lay Walden of Charleston, SC and Jessica Fleer Bringer of LaGrange, Mo.; four grandchildren, Zoe O’Neal, Zandria “Zandi” O’Neal, Cooper Corrick and Bentley Corrick; two sisters in law, Margaret (Norb) Dixon of Quincy, Il. and Harriet (Ewell) Andrews of Beardstown, Il.;two brothers in law, Phillip (Cheryl) O’Neal of Durham, Mo. and Benny Kaylor of Lewistown, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews & cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and best friend, Billie Kaylor, sisters in law, Willa Hunziker, Esther Sedelmeier and Betty Harvey and brothers in law, Paul O’Neal, Jr., Clarence Allen “CA” O’Neal and Robert O’Neal.
A private family service will be held. Inurnment will be in the Lewistown Cemetery at Lewistown, Missouri.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff that cared for her at Country Aire. They would also like to thank Brian and Melissa Kaylor whom she could always count on for anything and whom she enjoyed playing cards with on Friday evenings.
