MARY JEAN (LOGSDON) SCHROEDER

A very special person who was loved and admired left this world to be with Jesus. Mary Jean (Logsdon) Schroeder of rural Ewing died November 17, 2015 at her home.

Mary was born on October 12, 1927 to Harry and Hilda Logsdon in St. Patrick, Mo. She married William R. Schroeder on August 10, 1948 at the St. Josephs Catholic Church Rectory in Canton, Mo. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2002.

Bill and Mary had seven children. As they were raised, Mary provided love and laughter. They were charter and lifelong members of the Buffalo Rangers Saddle Club and involved in the South Fabius 4-H Club. In 1967, the Schroeder family was named the State Fair Family by the Shelby County University Extension Council. Mary had been active with the Older Adults Transportation System and was named the Volunteer of the Year during National Volunteer Year in 1994.

Marys children are Robert Kent and Denise Schroeder of Fowler, Ill., Marcia and Ray Arnold of Liberty, Ill., William Joseph and Karen Schroeder of Ewing, Mo., Thomas Daniel and Tammy Schroeder of Maywood, Mo., Timothy Lee and Connie Schroeder of Maywood, Mo., James Lynn and Kelly Schroeder of Ewing, Mo., and Bradley Kenneth Schroeder (deceased). They were blessed to have such a caring and dedicated mother.

Mary had 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren that she enjoyed each and every day. They will miss her very much.

Marys brothers are the late (Mick) and Marilyn Logsdon of Bushnell, Ill., the late (James) and Dorothy Logsdon of La Grange, Ronald and Vera Logsdon of Bushnell, Ill., Danny and Sharon Logsdon of LaGrange, Mo., Jerry and Patty Logsdon of LaGrange, Mo., and the late (David) Logsdon of La Grange.

Marys sisters are Georgia and Bob Richter of LaGrange, Mo., and the late (Patsy) and (Darrell) Johnston of La Grange.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Schroeder, her son Brad Schroeder, daughter in law Mary Schroeder, grandson Patrick Schroeder and granddaughter Sommer Cheney.

A Mass of Christian burial was held November 21, 2015 at the Notre Dame Catholic Church in LaGrange, Mo., with Fr. Angelus Minj officiating. Pallbearers were Travis Arnold, Jeff Schroeder, Victor Schroeder, Trent Schroeder, Chase Schroeder, and Andrew Schroeder. Honorary pallbearers were Scott Evans, Shane Arnold, Adam Schroeder, Triston (Schroeder) Jones, and Kelsey Schroeder. Music: Nan Wood, organist; Connie Schroeder, vocalist.

Burial was in Riverview Cemetery in LaGrange.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Ladies of Sodality at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ewing, Mo.
