Casey Bell Memorial Coon Hunt
The second Annual Casey Bell Memorial Coon Hunt to benefit Relay For Life was held Saturday November 26, 2022 in LaBelle, Mo at Doug and Renny Lay’s home, there were 54 total hunters, and 54 dogs with 138 raccoons harvested. The winners of the auctions and drawings were Joe Brumbaugh, on the saw, donated by Jr Cardwell, and JLay electric, Derek Howes on the tanned Bobcat, donated by JLay electric, anonymous, on the tanned fox, donated by Milk House Fur, and Alice Schnelle on the tanned raccoon, donated by Tuff Turpin. Alice then donated the raccoon back, and it was auctioned off and went to Daxton Drebenstedt.
The winners of the hunt were Nathaniel Parrish with the dog box, donated by the family of the late Ron Bragg, Terry Lay with cash prize of $300, Perry Eichor cash prize of $200, Justin Reeves cash prize of $100, Brandon Olson 2 bags of dog food, donated by Alvin Eichor Construction, Justin Reeves 1 bag of dog food, donated by Doug Lay and Joe Brumbaugh 1 bag of Dog food, donated by MFA LaBelle. We gave a prize for the oldest hunter which went to Steve Hudnut, 74, prize donated by Anna’s Bunkhouse, and the youngest hunter which went to Auggie Maschmeyer, age 5, donated in Memory of Casey Bell, by her parents. Fun was had by all
Over $1200 was raised to donation to the Relay For Life, and still have enough for cash prizes for next year. Next years event will be held November 25, 2023.
